Cherryville, North Carolina Woman Dances At Her 105th Birthday Party

Tanner first introduced you to Lorene Summey last week during “Tell Me Something Good”. Now we are getting details about this very special gathering. This Cherryville woman danced at her 105th birthday party. What a special party it was.

Lorene, for reasons unknown, never had a birthday party in her honor.  Her 66-year-old boyfriend and other friends and family wanted to do something about that.  They sent word that she would have a proper celebration for the first time and asked and hoped for 105 birthday cards, she received over 1,200 and they are still arriving.  Lorene now has a birthday card postmarked from every state in the country.

There were miniature ponies and other animals for Lorene to pet and admire, there was even line dancing.  Lorene Summey’s boyfriend fell ill before the party, but his brother stepped in to give the birthday girl her first birthday dance.  To learn more about this special story, get details from Channel 9.
