North Carolina Man Wins $100,000 From His Birthday Lottery Ticket

It is a very happy birthday indeed for Charles Cagle of Asheboro.  This North Carolina man just won $100,000 from his birthday lottery ticket.

Charles’ wife gifted him the ticket to celebrate his 71rst birthday.  You are going to see the irony in that number in just a moment.  The Mega 7s scratch off ticket was purchased on South Fayetteville street according to the North Carolina Education Lottery.

Charles says when he scratched it, he and his wife just sort of sat in silence for a moment.  Charles has been to the lottery office to collect his prize and after taxes, get this, it comes to about $71,000.  Perfect for a man celebrating his 71rst birthday. He says he plans to pay off some bills with that money.
