Lainey Wilson Says She Almost Had to Quit ‘Yellowstone’

When Catherine and I interviewed Lainey Wilson about this time last year, we just loved her instantly. Since then she has scored three number one songs and has an acting role in ‘Yellowstone’. Love seeing her soar. But Lainey Wilson says she almost had to quit ‘Yellowstone’.
She tells People magazine that she almost quit because of her father’s health. She was in the middle of filming when he was in the ICU in Houston fighting for his life. She goes on to say the doctors told the family he would most likely not pull through. Fortunately he did make it just fine!
Lainey says her dad’s words were “I don’t care if it was my funeral, if you got a job that needs to be done then go do it and don’t come back til its done”. Lainey Wilson: The CMA's Newest Darling
Country music has a new CMA darling this morning (9/7): Lainey Wilson. Miranda Lambert, who has been the CMA’s darling for quite some time, posted a headline article to her Insta stories of Lainey topping the CMA's nominations list with six nods total. Lambert wrote over the story, “Hell yeah, she does. Go, friend, go.”

Wilson got her very first nominations today, and among her six nods are Album of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year. Lainey herself posted to her socials when she heard the news, “6 NOMINATIONS!?!? I’m speechless. While I try to find the words, just know that I’m blown away and so so honored and proud to be nominated. Thank you to the entire country music community! @CountryMusic #CMAawards.”
