Mooresville Beauty Name Miss North Carolina 2023

We have a new “Miss North Carolina” in the Tar Heel State. On Saturday night in a High Point ceremony, Mooresville’s Taylor Loyd was bestowed the crown.
Taylor represented the town of Statesville. She is a graduate of The University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Psychology and Music. All contestants must also have a community service initiative. Taylor’s is Healing Hearts Through the Arts, 501(c)(3). The organization uses arts advocacy and promotion as a tool for mental health and well-being.
This Miss North Carolina Pageant also has a talent component and Taylor performed an opera vocal: “Amour, raiment mon courage” from Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette.
The other Miss North Carolina 2023 finalists included:
- 1st runner up: Abby Britt of Durham
- 2nd runner up: Hannah Welborn-Lewis of Sandhills
- 3rd runner up: Keelie Jones of Queen City
- 4th runner up: Maura Westbrook of Cleveland
Taylor Loyd will now go on to represent North Carolina in the upcoming “Miss America Pageant” next year. The official date and site of that pageant has not been named.
Also on Saturday night, Clayton High School Junior, Hanley House was named “Miss Teen North Carolina.”
