Looks like the phrase "It's Bo Time," is moving across the nation. The Carolinas have enjoyed the tasty chicken at Bojangles for years, and now the franchise is heading West. The iconic North Carolina Chicken chain is heading to California. Bojangles is expanding to Los Angeles.
The first Bojangles opened in Charlotte, NC in 1977. It quickly became an institution in the Carolinas.
When will it happen?
The latest info is that Los Angeles County will be licking its lips as early as 2025. Bojangles announced the big news as part of a multi-unit franchise agreement.
Lorenzo Boucetta, an entrepreneur who helped spearhead the agreement said, “I’ve spent several years in hospitality and real estate development, but my roots have always been ingrained in the restaurant industry. “The opportunity to grow Bojangles in California presented itself at the perfect moment, and I am thrilled to bring this iconic brand to the market for the first time.”
How many will be built?
WBTV says the agreement that has been signed has an initial number of thirty restaurants. However, I think once the Los Angeles residents get a taste of real Carolina chicken, that number should skyrocket. This is the first time Bojangles has considered an expansion into the area.
The question is will this be the only expansion? I would think that this would be just the beginning. So it looks like the iconic Carolina chicken restaurant is working its way to become a national franchise. America...it will soon be "Bo Time."
