Left-Handers Day 2021: The History Behind The Celebration And Some Facts
Happy National Left-handers day!
The August 13th celebration of left-handed people was started in 1976 by Dean R Campbell, founder of Left-Handers International Inc. The day which honors people who are left-handed wasn’t an official day until it was recognized by the Left-Hander’s Day Club on August 13, 1997.
The Telegraph says left-handed people are a unique group with only 10 percent of the world’s population being left-handed. Historically the use of the left hand was associated with witchcraft. Five of the last presidents have been left-handed, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama. Did you struggle growing up left-handed? What tasks were hard for you to grasp as a left-hander?
