Sprawling New Charlotte North Carolina Brewery Set To Open June 24
A few months ago we altered the route that we take into the radio station in Charlotte each day. By doing so, we pass the huge, sprawling site pictured above. Monday Night Brewing has literally had our appetites whetted for some time. And finally, we have an opening date: Saturday, June 24.
Saturday and Sunday fundays are definitely a thing with us and our best friends. Together we seek out wineries to sample, craft cocktail bars to indulge, and breweries to try the latest in fermented hops and barley creativity.
As was pointed out here in the spring, the origin of Monday Night Brewing is unique to say the least. It all began with a group of guys in a Bible study. Nope, you didn’t misread that. All of them had regular jobs, but would meet up on Monday nights to blow off steam and brew beer. Yada, yada, yada and before they knew it, friends, family and neighbors all started showing up on these Mondays to join in the driveway consumption.
Next step? Get into the brewery biz of course, and just a few short years after opening in Atlanta, the Monday Night Brewing crew won a gold medal at the Great American Beer Fest for their first barrel-aged beer.
Monday Night Brewing is set to be a huge, sprawling, and varied operation. The 8,000 square foot former garage can accommodate 1000 guests with seating available for inside for 300. It’s kid and dog friendly and will serve both beer and craft cocktails. Uh, yes please. According to Axios Charlotte, Monday Night Brewery is known for a wide array of beers, including fruited sours, lagers, bold IPAs and Scotch Ales and will have around 20 taps. It’ll also have a full cocktail menu using spirits from its in-house distillery line, Sneaky Pete’s.
Also, we noticed last week a sign that read, “Pizza Maker Wanted.” What? Beer, cocktails AND pizza?! Monday Night Brewing may be located at 2217 South Tryon, but it might as well be next door to heaven. Indeed, you can expect to have wood-fired pizzas baked onsite in an Italian-imported Neapolitan oven.
Again, Monday Night Brewing in Charlotte will have its grand opening on Saturday, June 24th. Its hours of operation will be: Monday from noon to midnight, Tuesday-Thursday from noon to 11pm, Friday-Saturday noon to 2am and Sunday 11am to 9pm. Can’t. Wait.
Atlanta's Monday Night Brewing will enter the Charlotte market with its first taproom early next year. Here's what you need to know. https://t.co/5sTC6R07yo
