Local NASCAR Teams Helping Create Protective Gear For Coronavirus
Racing has stopped for now, but local teams are pitching in to help fight this virus
NASCAR engineers stepped up with a great idea. These engineers have access to 3D printers. They wondered if the printers could be used to address the shortage of personal protective equipment for health care workers. After meeting with suppliers they also met with Novant Health and things got rolling.
Now the printers are running 18 hours a day with approximately eight engineers volunteering their time to oversee production from approximately 7 a.m. until midnight every day. Making us proud here in the Carolinas! Thanks, NASCAR!
