Last week, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer extended her previous stay-at-home orders through April 30th and added several new restrictions. She including a ban on visiting neighbors and family members. Now a group of protestors is saying she went way too far.
The Michigan Conservative Coalition and Michigan Freedom Fund has rallied residents to voice their opposition to the restrictive order. They will take part in an upcoming protest at the state’s Capitol. While Wednesday’s planned demonstration is expected to include hundreds of people displaying signs, it will differ from traditional protests in that the participants will “march” in their vehicles.
The coalition says it hopes to cause a “major traffic jam” to draw attention to Whitmer’s “erratic, unilateral orders that threaten Michiganders’ economic existence.” The protest is scheduled to begin at noon, the group says.

But #reopenNC is dwarfed by the Michigan FB group - “Michiganders Against Excessive Quarantine” - which has 262,000 members, 2.6% of the state’s population! In a week. As someone wrote me, people in MI know when you lose jobs, they don’t come back. https://t.co/j1O9hYDnUg pic.twitter.com/AcFn0aJ5Wi
