Introducing ‘Tubby’ The New Official Mascot of Duke’s Mayonnaise
In 2020, South Carolina-based Duke’s Mayonnaise started sponsoring the annual opening weekend college football game in Charlotte which is lovingly called the Duke’s Mayo Classic. And you shouldn’t really have a football game without a mascot, right? This weekend Duke’s unveiled a mascot of their own they are calling…Tubby.
It’s premiering as the first mascot in the brand’s 105-year history and Tubby is well, something special. Now Duke’s says the mascot was designed for “personifying Duke’s Twang!” Some say he is terrifying! Others call him disturbing and shifty.
There were Tubby defenders out there to call him bold and charming.
You decide! Check out all the details and the picture of Tubby in USATODAY.
