Igloos Return To Charlotte North Carolina
Igloos make their return to Charlotte at the popular rooftop spot Merchant & Trade. According to Axios Charlotte, the igloo will be available Tuesdays-Sundays beginning November 11. From the 19th floor of the Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel, Merchant & Trade allows for breathtaking views of the city skyline. Visitors can see Romare Bearden Park and Truist Field, as well. “Igloos” first appeared in 2020 as a way of social distancing during the pandemic. They were meant to be temporary. However, everyone loved the idea so much they decided to keep them. This year, when the igloos return to Charlotte, there will only be one, not two. Reservations will be accepted for parties as small as 2 and as big as 10. The theme will be “Apres-ski lodge,” according to the communications manager.
Merchant & Trade opened in 2017 and became the hot spot rooftop bar. Floor to ceiling windows give visitors amazing views, and guests can reserve a private terrace for events. Although they started with a stricter dress code, attire has relaxed a bit after customer feedback. A newer introduction to Merchant & Trade is a menu that offers entrees rather than must smaller plates. Those are still available, too. Guests can dine on scallops and buffalo fried mushrooms to mention a few. Of course, plenty of drinks are available. Prices to reserve the igloo are anywhere from $750-$850. That includes a food and beverage minimum as well as the rental fee. Even though it might sound steep, if you and nine buddies decided to split it, not too bad for a memorable night. Oh, and by the way, the igloo comes equipped with a space heater to keep things warm and cozy. Find Merchant & Trade online to learn more and make reservations.
