Gallery:Huge Catfish Caught on Lake Wylie In The Carolinas
Don’t tempt me with an invitation for a fishing trip. I will say yes faster than a speeding bullet. Huge catfish caught on Lake Wylie in North Carolina and South Carolina thanks to an invitation from an old college buddy.
I met Trent Thomasson while we were both trout fishing on the Tuckaseegee river when we were in college at Western Carolina University back in 19 hundred and never you mind:) I think his first sentence to me was more of a question, “how many ya got there”, followed by “what are you using for bait”. Something along those lines. And from there we were fast friends. Fast forward to present day and Trent is living on Lake Wylie with his beautiful wife Lauren and is starting his own fishing guide service on the lake.
I love to fish anytime of year but I have had particularly good luck catching big catfish in the winter. I was thrilled when Trent invited me and my brother in law Jeff out to see what we could find. I knew Trent would know just where to go. He grew up casting a line in some lake, river or ocean and he knows where and how to find the fish. Living there,he knows Lake Wylie like the back of his hand. I was excited to reunite with my friend and the trip did not disappoint. Within minutes my BIL caught a huge one and then pretty soon after, two rods bent at the same time and we had a double catch. For details about Trent and his guide service just go right here. You might be asking yourself, do the fish bite in cold weather? Oh yeah ! More information on fishing in cold weather is available, details here.
