$2 Million Lottery Win For This South Carolina Man Came From A Ticket You May Recognize

A South Carolina man purchased a "Fastest Road To $2 Million" scratch off ticket just like the one pictured here. His ticket purchased in Myrtle Beach won the game's top prize of $2 million.

It’s that magical moment when you take a coin and start scratching a lottery ticket to reveal a winning number.  For most of us that amount is usually $10 or $15 if we’re lucky.  Well, that moment became reality for a man in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina when he scratched off the “Fastest Road To $2 Million” South Carolina lottery ticket.  And, he beat the odds to take home the ticket’s biggest prize. That ticket looked familiar to me.  So, I’ll explain that in a minute.  But, how did it all play out for this South Carolina man who won $2 million?

According to WBTW, the winner purchased the ticket at a Food Lion store on Belle Terre Boulevard in Myrtle Beach.  It was just another errand on his way home from Costco, but it ended up being anything but routine.  And, now the $2 million lottery winner is seriously pondering putting the win toward an early retirement.  The man reportedly texted his wife a picture of the winning ticket when he realized his luck had skyrocketed.

So, once again I seem to be just a step away from fortune.  But, alas I always miss out.  After reading so many of these stories I stepped up my occasional scratch-off game.  I know from research that you can slightly help your odds by looking on lottery websites to see which prizes are still available for various tickets.  And, guess what!  Just weeks ago I also bought this exact same ticket in the South Carolina Lottery!  It’s hanging on my fridge right now.

Yep!  After looking on the South Carolina lottery site I noticed the “Fastest Road to $2 Million” ticket still had the top prize available.  So, I bought one.  And, I did win.  But, my big jackpot was only $30.  In fact, the picture is my actual ticket I’ve yet to claim.  Of course, I usually reinvest in another ticket.

Congrats to this South Carolina man on his big $2 million win.  And, I guess I’ll do some more research to see what ticket I’ll purchase next.  For more on this story see here for details.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that most of these locations are on the water. South Carolina is known for its grand strand and Lowcountry beaches. Some are all small-town vibes, while others are close enough to larger metros if that’s what you need! Now I just figure out how to grow my retirement fund by 100x or maybe just hit the lottery. I could handle working a fun part-time job while enjoying all these towns have to offer. Oh well, at this point I’ll just dream!

    One of the larger places on this list is Myrtle Beach. The availability of golf, restaurants, activities for the grandkids, shopping, and more make this an attractive place to retire. One thing is for sure there is no shortage of things to do in Myrtle!
