I love a good lottery story. And, this woman stole my heart by interrupting her hubby watching football to ask him to confirm her huge South Carolina lottery win. Apparently, the woman couldn't believe her eyes when she scratched her fortune. She played the Winter Green lottery ticket, according to WYFF.
So, she asked her husband, engrossed in a football game, to check and see that she indeed won. And, in typical man fashion, he replied, "yeah." Then, just like that her $5 South Carolina lottery investment turned into $200,000! Of course, the Anderson, South Carolina store that sold the woman the holiday themed winning ticket receives a $2,000 commission.
And, just so you know, the woman bought her winning ticket from a Shell gas station on East Greenville St. in Anderson. But, don't despair. The good news for all the rest of us lottery enthusiasts is that officials say there are 2 more top prizes on the Winter Green ticket. And, $200,000 is the top prize for that particular holiday-themed scratch off ticket in South Carolina.
So, I guess someone plans to have an extra Merry Christmas. And, although it's true, these days $200,000 isn't life changing. It's enough to warrant a moderate celebration. Hmmm, that makes me wonder if some folks I know might appreciate a couple of scratch-off tickets. It's a good stocking stuffer. Who wouldn't love a fat, juicy cash payout?

The financial experts at Forbes recently conducted an analysis to determine the richest places in the state of South Carolina. To do this they looked at over 400 cities aka census-designated places in SC. Cities were ranked on four metrics including median household income, mean household income, median home value, and median property taxes paid.
So which cities made the cut? The top 5 were all clustered in one area of the state. While I won't spoil that surprise quite yet I will give you the (probably unneeded) hint that it's a coastal area.
