That magical season of love is upon us.  Valentine's Day is a chance to express your love for that special someone.  Or, perhaps you are looking for love to come around this year.  And, it's totally fine if you're content to go it alone.  But, no matter your situation, this sounds like fun.  Get ready for Billy Sunday Valentine's pop up coming to Charlotte, North Carolina.   And, it has a spooky twist.

The Billy Sunday Valentine's pop up takes place at 1115 N. Brevard St.  And, if you're familiar with the location, that's the ground floor of Optimist Hall in Charlotte.  Take it from me, this place knows how to give you a great experience at their pop ups.

We visited Billy Sunday during their Christmas pop up just before our holiday vacation.  The place transforms into whatever theme they're hosting at the time.  There's whimsical decor and delicious cocktails.  However, I caution you that these pop ups are extremely popular.  And, I recommend getting there as soon as the doors open.

And, this isn't your typical sweet and frilly Valentine's Day pop up theme.  Billy Sunday decided to provide a twisted take called 'My Bloody Valentine.'  It runs from February 1-28.  So, what happens at a Valentine's Day meets Halloween pop up such as this?

Well, in looking at Billy Sunday's Instagram stories, we'll start with the cocktails.  The motif for the drink menu combines conversation hearts with ransom note font for the listings with some bloody handprints sprinkled in.  But, here's what to expect at the Billy Sunday Valentine's pop up.

Love Bomb

Dickel 8 Year, chocolate liqueur, strawberry, lemon and a chocolate drizzle

Warm Fizzy Feeling

Aviation Gin, Ramazzotti Rosato, raspberry, lemon, El Guapo Love Potion Bitters, Fee foam and soda

Between A Rock & A Heart Place

Bleeding Heart

Deep Eddy Vodka, grenadine, lemon and Sprite

'Til Death Do Us Part

Shoot Your Shot

And, there's even a 'Shotski' that serves 4! With the exception of the 'Shotski,' most cocktails run about $14.   Of course there'll be food and a decadent flourless chocolate cake.  The hours are typically 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Thursday for Billy Sunday pop ups.  And, 4 p.m. to midnight Fridays.  Then, noon to midnight and 10 p.m., respectively Saturdays and Sundays.

Follow Billy Sunday on social media for more info.  And, as always, check their website.

It can be so easy to host a party (or come home after a long day) and just open some wine or a beer. Or maybe you want some liquor but take the easy route with a vodka soda or Jack and Coke. But what if you could up your cocktail game with minimal extra effort? And in doing so feel and seem a whole lot fancier. That's right, there are plenty of simple 3-ingredient cocktails that won't take you any time to make. But they will take your drinks to the next level. Many of these can be made with the bar supplies you already have at home, though a couple may require a trip to the liquor store. But you probably needed to restock anyway.

One of the drinks on my list, is actually what I think will end up being my drink of summer 2023- the Aperol Spritz. You'll also find recipes for some classics, as well as some drinks you've probably ever ordered from a bar. No need to wait for date night or girls' night out to enjoy a drink.
