Taking Dead Aim-Work It Baby, Work It!
I’m always amused when I hear people on TV doing golf coverage espousing the notion of “growing the game” when they continue to use terms-without explanation-that the casual fan or viewer would never know.
One such term is “working the ball.”
Let me simplify, working the ball is the player’s ability to maneuver the direction of the golf shot-rather it be to the right, left, or dead center.
Now, you can have a great time with golf-for life-and never have to worry about the ability to do this; however, if you want to become really good at this game (single-digit handicap to scratch), you’re going to have to learn to do this.
So, even though admittedly this is “next level stuff,” here’s a simplified look at “working the ball.”
And if you love the game of golf, you’re gonna love my weekly golf radio show and podcast, “Taking Dead Aim.” The latest episode, “Full Course Press,” is right here. And I invite you to subscribe to the “Taking Dead Aim” Podcast at Apple Podcasts-just search “Taking Dead Aim.”
