Eric Church Sings A Kids’ Song?
When I saw the title “OO De Lally,” I must admit…I was stumped.
How is this a children’s song? Why is Eric Church singing it? And more important…WHAT IS IT?
So when in doubt, head to the Urband Dictionary.
oo de lally: excitement brought on by any rousing game of badminton, birthday parties, archery, tax collecting, kissing older women, and successfully trespassing on the property of royalty.
Okay, so I was still a bit perplexed until I saw that this song was from the 1973 Disney animated classic, “Robin Hood.”
OHHHHHHHH! Okay.
“Oo De Lally” was originally recorded by Roger Miller for the movie, but for King of the Road: A Tribute to Roger Miller, Eric Church has put his own touch on it.
