A Special Senior Celebration
Last night was a very memorable one for us. No secret, as our son is a member of The Class of 2020, these amazing kids and honoring them, has become our pet project. SEE OUR SENIOR SHOUTOUTS HERE
Well last night was a personal, fantastic, graduation festivity. Once upon a time we were raising our baby boy in Birmingham, Alabama. One house away was The Ensey Family. Keith and Amy’s two kids bracketed Hogan by 6-7 months on either side in age. Their daughter Abby, was oldest, their son Jake, the youngest (Jake and Hogan are in the same grade). And as you can tell by the picture above and those here, they were inseparable.
As fate would have it, we moved to Charlotte when Hogan was 4 to begin work at Country 1037. Just a few years later, The Enseys would follow as Keith took a new job here. Oh, and those kids today?
Abby just finished her Freshman year at Alabama. Jake is heading to Auburn in the fall. Hogan will be attending Coastal Carolina beginning in August. Although we don’t spend as much time together as we’d like, the bond between the two families remains VERY strong, and last night we got together to honor our boys.
It is one of the great joys of my life that we’ve been able to remain such good friends and be a part of each other’s lives. I have no doubt this will never change.
Whatever else I *think* is important in life, last night reminded me that family, and friends who might as well be family, have no peer.
