How Does A Snow Day Makes A Boy Wish He Was In School?
I’ve always described the snow we get in Charlotte as “perfect snow.” We’ve been here since 2006 and with only one exception, here’s how our wintery precipitation can be described. It’s beautiful. Just enough of it falls overnight to cancel school and for the kids to have fun. By 2pm, the sun has warmed things to the point massive melting has begun. And life returns to normal the next day. That one exception several years ago reinforced my belief in NOT living in a cold weather climate. Shoveling snow/clearing driveways and walkways is one of the most exhausting things I’ve ever done. You want a good cardio workout? Go shovel snow. 10 minutes of that and you’ll feel like you’ve done 2 hours on a treadmill. Which leads me to this hilarious video posted by the Toronto, Canada, School Board. In Toronto, it probably starts snowing in October and doesn’t stop until late spring. Shoveling snow is a part of life. And for young Carter (featured in the video), it’s enough to make a boy utter a phrase that is unbelievable.
We can’t wait to have you back at school, Carter. 🍏

Thank you for helping neighbours, friends and even people you don’t know! ❄️

You have a child who has trouble appreciating school? Ship em off to Toronto. Make em shovel snow for a day or two. That should be a mind-changer. <g>
