I'm originally from Texas.  So, steak is something you cut your teeth on as a toddler.  And we take it seriously.  Therefore, when someone proclaims a particular steak restaurant the "best" we sit up and take notice.  Eat This, Not That took a look at all 50 states to find the best in each.    And they did that by analyzing reviews, looking at awards and which ones are being recommended frequently.  Which steakhouse in South Carolina nabbed the "best"label?  Eat This, Not That reserved that title for Halls Chophouse in Charleston.  However, the Charleston spot isn't the only Hall's in the nation.  The popular restaurant also has locations in Greenville, Columbia, Nexton and Nashville.  Perhaps the growth results from their success in Charleston since opening in 2009.  The family owned restaurant catches diners' attention for the menu as well as the fantastic service.

And, something that sets Hall's Chophouse apart is the USDA Prime Allen Brothers of Chicago steak, according to Eat This, Not That.  Also, the favorite restaurant offers a variety of craft cocktails, along with wine and beer.  Other highlights are Charleston staples She-Crab soup and Low Country Fried Green Tomatoes.  And, what caught my eye on the menu was the cookie skillet dessert.  I have to tell you any time I see a cookie in a warm skillet, my heart skips a beat!  Hall's version is a Tollhouse cookie with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce and chocolate ganache.  That's chocolate "sauce" to you and me.  I also paused to drool over the Southern Caramel Cake with warm bananas foster!    So, now you know which steakhouse in South Carolina is best.  But, explore the list to see the best spots in every state!

I try and stick to chicken and fish most of the time.  Every now and then, I have got to have a steak.  Sadly, in the small town I live in there is not a steakhouse.  So I did a little digging and here are the 5 best steakhouses in North Carolina.

I was so relieved to find that many of the best steak houses in North Carolina are close.  Very close. Regardless of how you like them, nothing quite satisfies like a delicious piece of meat in the cut of your choice.  I am a ribeye girl but occasionally order the filet.  Chain steakhouses just don't quite satisfy sometimes.  We do grill at home.  A little trip to the butcher department of your favorite grocery store, about an hour to sous vide then put that baby on the grill.

I just added this one in because I can tell you first hand this is a great place to get a steak.  Located in Gaston County it is local local local.  The steaks are amazing.  Try the shrimp cocktail and of course their signature tomato and onion sandwiches. Try the Woodshed in Stanley for a great experience.
