North Carolina Museum Of History Honors Women Of Country Music
The North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh is honoring the women of country music with a special exhibit through April 2.
“The Power of Women in Country Music” exhibit features instruments, costumes and other special content that chronicles the role that women have played in the country music genre. According to Spectrum News, more than 70 artists are represented, including Loretta Lynn, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, Shania Twain and Taylor Swift.
Curated by the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, “The Power of Women in Country Music” at the North Carolina Museum of History coincides with Women’s History Month. Visitors can track the rise of women in country music from the early days in the 1940s to international superstardom.
The North Carolina Museum of History is located at 5 East Edenton Street in Raleigh. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students with ID. Minors under the age of 17 are admitted free.
