Did somebody say biscuits?  A biscuit themed restaurant with two other Charlotte area locations is opening this month in Matthews, North Carolina. According to social media posts, March 20 is the opening date for the new spot.   If you're familiar with Matthews area restaurants, you remember the Pizza Peel.  Well, that is where you can expect to see the Flying Biscuit, according to Charlotte Observer.  The address is 110 Matthews Station St, 1A.  Of course, with a name like Flying Biscuit you might conclude they serve breakfast and breakfast related items.  And, you would be correct.  They opened years ago in the Stonecrest Shopping Center on Rea Rd. near I-485.  You can also find them at 4241 Park Rd. in Charlotte.  I scanned the menu and first of all noticed it's pretty extensive.  Some of the favorites that caught my eye included plenty of egg, waffle and french toast options.  I especially like the sound of "Pancake Tacos."

And, Flying Biscuit also serves delicious lunch items.  The menu includes everything from  burgers and sandwiches to wraps and shrimp and grits.  And, yes, there is a delicious sounding "Flying Biscuit Breakfast" that comes with a biscuit!  In reading the story of Flying Biscuit, I found the Atlanta based chain opened more than 20 years ago.  And, they've been serving happy customers in North Carolina, Georgia, Texas and Florida since.  They make about 5000 biscuits a week at each location.  Yes, this is something I need more of in my life!  So, mark you calendar for March 20 at 7 a.m. for the expansion of the biscuit themed restaurant opening a new North Carolina location.

Charlotte Home to North Carolina’s Best Breakfast Sandwich

Are you a fan of breakfast sandwiches? I know some people feel like a breakfast sandwich can change the way they tackle a day. Personally, the only breakfast sandwich I am big on is grilled cheese. I know, very basic of me. But, breakfast in general can be very important. It truly kick-starts your day and helps you be able to better navigate the day. From fast food spots to bagel shops and coffee shops, you can find a good breakfast sandwich. But, where are the best?

Cheapism is telling us the best places to enjoy a breakfast sandwich in every state. So, of course, we had to check out what spots are representing the Carolinas. These spots are based on high customer ratings and food critics. Even more fun, Charlotte is home to the best one in North Carolina. How about that? If you have tried either of these then let us know your thoughts!

North Carolina

Laurel Market is a favorite for breakfast sandwiches in North Carolina. Not only do they offer a wide range of options to enjoy for breakfast, but you can also get crazy and build your own monster of a sandwich. From a classic grilled cheese on your choice of bread to class sausage, egg, and cheese and a superior breakfast ham sandwich. Sounds like breakfast might have just gotten a lot better in Charlotte.

South Carolina

Of course, the best spot in South Carolina is in Charleston. Page's Okra Grill has the famous TJ's Hot Mess that you should try out for breakfast. I LOVE Page's but I am always enjoying lunch and dinner there instead. The famous breakfast sandwich has fried chicken between two halves of buttery biscuit with pepper jack cheese, eggs, and jalapeños. Sounds pretty great, right? Time for breakfast!
