There’s only one thing in life that’s certain, and that’s change.  North Carolina based Harris Teeter is making changes in their logo and tagline.  The Shelby Report says the grocer, with roots in Matthews, introduced an updated logo and ad campaign.  The campaign is based around “in food with love.”   Harris Teeter spokespersons indicate the marketing line points to their love of the business, associates and a desire to give back to communities.  Also, the line below the new “Harris Teeter” font will read “your neighborhood market.” And, the updated branding rolled out earlier this month with support from social media and television.  Therefore, it won’t be long before customers notice the logo and marketing changes at their local stores.  North Carolina based Harris Teeter has been a part of the region for decades with more than 250 stores.

Of course, any change comes with critics.  As I looked around social media to glimpse the launch of the new branding, I saw customers chiming in.  Opinions as you might imagine were split.  And, some loyal customers are pretty resistant to change. They don’t see the need to change.  And, they express a loss of nostalgia.  However, there were also a few who welcome updates to the brand.  It goes back to the old saying “you can’t please everyone.”  But, the overall sentiment in the comments seemed to be what consumers value most is quality and affordability.  I’m always on board with that!  So, we’ll keep our eyes peeled next time we visit to grab our first look as the North Carolina based Harris Teeter introduces changes to their iconic logo.
