Cows In North Carolina Band Together To Help Police Catch A Suspect
When you decide to commit a crime turns out it’s not only the police and other humans you have to elude. A herd of cows in North Carolina banded together to help police catch their suspect. According to Fox News, Boone, North Carolina police said the 34 year old man fled during a traffic stop last week. After leading officers on a chase, Joshua Minton eventually abandoned his vehicle. And, that’s where the story took a unique turn.
Apparently, the man ran into a field in hopes of hiding and eluding officers pursuing him. But, it was the very cows he hoped would provide cover that ultimately led officers to his whereabouts. The report says the cows basically allowed officers to follow them to where he was trying to hide.
And, although there is currently not a “Bovine Tracking Unit” in place, the department jokingly points out it might be a good idea. Of course, there would be many issues when implementing an animal of that size into crime fighting. And, the K-9 units might have something to say about cows trying to “moooove” in on their jobs.
Obviously, the department thanked the cows for their help to catch a suspect. And, the man faces a count of “felony fleeing and eluding arrest with a motor vehicle” among others. His court date is set for June 28. Read here for the complete story.
But, who knew cows would be so quick to out the bad guys! Hopefully, it makes those folks I used to know in Texas who talked about the urban legend of “cow tipping” think twice about messing with bovines. They don’t take kindly to criminals in their midst.
