It’s no secret we all love junk food. Some of us prefer savory or salty foods. And, others lean toward the sweets. But, do you know your state’s favorite junk food? Or, do you have a guess what the country’s overall most popular junk food is? Well, TasteOfCountry.com took a look at Google Trends to analyze the data. And, it turns out North Carolina shares its favorite junk food with most of the country.
Yep, North Carolina’s favorite junk food is Sour Patch Kids. And, it just so happens it’s the favorite of 7 states making it the nation’s overall favorite. A few of the other states with a love for Sour Patch Kids include Arizona, Delaware and Massachusetts. But, how about our neighbors in South Carolina? Can you guess what junky treats they love the most? Turns out South Carolina leans toward Nerds. That happens to be a favorite of my hubby. So, it makes sense that we reside in South Carolina. In scanning the list, I only saw two other states with a love of Nerds. One of those was Virginia.
Surprisingly, my favorite Twizzlers are only the most popular junk food in North Dakota. And, since we know the favorite in 7 states is Sour Patch Kids we need to see what is the next most popular. Well, 5 states share an affinity for Animal Crackers and Kit Kat bars.
