Which Neighborhoods In Mecklenburg County North Carolina Are Considered Most Dangerous?
It’s pretty common for any large city to experience a fair share of crimes. But, do you wonder which neighborhoods in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina are considered most dangerous? Apparently, bluestreaknewsonline examined data from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department to figure out 5 of the most dangerous neighborhoods.
As we know, the largest city in North Carolina makes up a big part of Mecklenburg County. That would be The Queen City of Charlotte. And, the article looked at crime rates and arrived at the list when comparing number of crimes per 1000 residents in 2022.
And, according to the crime data bluestreaknewsonline found, the most dangerous neighborhood in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina is Lakewood in West Charlotte. The area of around 6000 residents had 136.8 crimes per 1000 people in 2022. According to First&Sold, Lakewood is a neighborhood of mostly single-family 2-3 bedroom homes built from 1960-1979. There’s a mixture of renters vs. owners. And, the data they shared showed nearly 40% owned, while others rented. The neighborhood sits not too far from historic Enderly Park. And, it has easy access to interstate 85.
I say when you’re looking to buy or rent a home, it’s a very personal choice. And, a lot of items factor in on the decision. Of course, realtors always say location, location, location. After all, you can change many things about a house. But, you can’t pick it up and move it. Many neighborhoods experience some level of crime. You just have to weigh your options. And, if you’re happy and feel safe, that’s what matters.
Some friends of ours experienced a break in and robbery at their business in Plaza Midwood last week. So, you just never know. But, if you’d like more information on the neighborhoods in Mecklenburg County North Carolina considered most dangerous, see the full story and data in the article from bluestreaknewsonline.
