North Carolina Man Wins Second Major Lottery Prize In Three Years
A North Carolina man won his second major lottery prize in three years. Monroe resident Alexandro Acevedo first won $200,000 in 2021. Last week, he got lucky again with a $100,000 scratch-off win.
“I couldn’t believe it,” Acevedo recalled. “I was like, ‘No way.’ It feels great.”
According to North Carolina Education Lottery officials, Acevedo bought his lucky $30 Black Titanium ticket from the Food Lion on North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Monroe. His previous win also came on a scratch-off ticket.
Acevedo was at lottery headquarters in Raleigh Thursday to collect his prize. After taxes and other witholdings, he was presented a check for $71,509.
So what will Acevedo do with his latest winnings? It might be another family vacation. He took his family to Disney World when he struck it rich the last time.
