Mooresville Man Wins $2 Million Lottery Jackpot
It’s been a busy week for the North Carolina Education Lottery. First there was that Mega Millions winner we told you about here just the other day. And this morning came the news that a Mooresville man wins lottery jackpot.
Mooresville Man Wins Lottery Where?
The fine details of Daniel Greenan’s windfall, well, you couldn’t make them up. First off, the convenience store that he purchased from is the “Home Run Market” on Williamson Road. Really? A Mooresville man wins lottery jackpot by walking into the Home Run Market and hits a grand slam in life? Seriously, the cliches just roll off the tongue, you can’t make this stuff up.
Mooresville Man Wins Lottery With What Ticket?
Last Friday, for a lot of us, was payday. I’m not certain if it was for Daniel Greenan or not. However, I know I’m far more apt to buy a lottery ticket on a payday Friday than not. I’m in a good mood and figure, “Why not me?” Well, armed with a $20 bill and a dream, Greenan purchased an “Instant Millions” scratch-off ticket. If it wasn’t payday before, May 17 quickly became a PAYDAY he’ll never forget. Daniel Greenan won the first $2 million top prize in the game which debuted earlier this month. He tells WCNC, “I started crying. Never in a million years did I think something like this would happen to me.”
Mooresville Man Wins Lottery, But How Much?
This is always my favorite part. Daniel Greenan didn’t let any grass grow under his feet. He went to the North Carolina Education Lottery headquarters on Monday to claim his prize. He had two options: an annuity of $100,000 over 20 years, OR a lump sum payment of $1.2 million. Greenan chose, as I would, the lump sum. After Uncle Sam and the Tar Heel State took their taste, he walked out with more than $700,000 that he didn’t walk in with. Daniel plans to take a couple of trips to Hawaii and The Grand Canyon.
