Man Sets Jump Rope World Record While Sitting
I’m always amazed by the depth and breadth of world records. I mean sometimes I just think, “Of course it’s a record, this has to be the only time someone ever thought about it-much less done it.” That is the case with this one. Call me crazy or an abnormal thinker, but to me…jumping rope is done from the standing position. So, follow my thinking here, any record involving jumping rope HAS to be from that position, yes? Apparently, no. In fact, it even has a name: bum skips.
Rasel Islam is from Bangladesh and is an accomplished jump-roper with more than one world record to his credit (including most double-under skips in three minutes and most skips in one minute on one leg). Now, he’s got a new trophy for his mantle. In thirty seconds, Islam was able to hop over a rope-while on his caboose-117 times. A new “Who Knew” kind of record.
