Too Wet For Golf In Charlotte? Head Indoors
My son is home for Thanksgiving. He and I, our thing, is playing golf. A lot. So, naturally I made tee times for tomorrow. Here’s the problem. It looks like the day after turkey gluttony is going to be a total washout. Dang. I guess we’re stuck either being dragged around shopping or decorating for Christmas, or some other chore other than what we want to do. Aha, think again! Too wet for golf outside? Head indoors with a couple of great options in Charlotte.

Puttery in Charlotte is located on Rampart St. and is one of the coolest indoor putt-putt experiences ever. They have two really cool courses, plus a great bar and apps menu. Now, you read correctly, bar. Puttery is strictly a grown-up deal. You must be 21 and over. Oh, and reservations are encouraged. According to their website, “Puttery offers adults an immersive experience unlike any other. From competitive socializing to curated culinary options and inventive craft cocktails, one thing is for sure – you can always count on an epic night out.”

Stroke is very similar to Puttery. It is located in Plaza Midwood and again, is a really cool, high-end miniature golf joint. Like Puttery, it offers food and drinks. Like Puttery, reservations are encouraged. However, one DOES NOT have to be 21 to enjoy the handmade nine-hole course and fun of Stroke (as long as it is before 7:30). According to Stroke’s website, “As an Urban Golf Club, we are a whimsical mix of country club and speakeasy. Our hand built, indoor 9-hole golf course includes unique obstacles, water features, never-before-seen hole designs. Book your tee time for your chance to join our Leaderboard!”
Now, how fun is it going to be to watch my son’s mother roll her eyes when told since we could not play golf and drink beer outside, we figured out a way to do it indoors.
