Legendary Asheville North Carolina Pizza Restaurant Opening In Charlotte
If I had to choose one of my all time favorite indulgent meals, near the top would be pizza. And, I remember sometime last year reading about this well known spot in Asheville. It is legendary among folks in the know. PIE.ZAA made a name for themselves due to the popularity of their massive slices of New York-style pizza. And, now The Charlotte Observer says we can expect the giant pizza to make its way to Charlotte by the end of the year.
PIE.ZAA started in 2020 in Asheville as a late night place to grab a slice or a pie. So, it’s our turn to get a piece of the pie here in South End of Charlotte, North Carolina. The PIE.ZAA menu is about what you would expect with all the classic flavor options. Plus, they offer a specialty pizza that rotates each month. And, if you want something sweet to go with your savory pie, they offer huge cookies, too. Apparently, they like everything big. And, that’s fine with me!
Although we don’t know the exact opening date of PIE.ZAA in Charlotte, they hope to get it done by year’s end or beginning of of 2024. And, the location is to be a 2500 square foot space at 1440 S. Tryon St. The spot is also home to Wooden Robot Brewery and more.
I remember writing about them last year because of the tremendous size of PIE.ZAA’s 28 inch pie. And, at the time I was also interested in their “zip dip.” That was described as a cherry pepper parmesan sauce made in-house. But, I can’t wait to try their enormous New York style pizza when PIE.ZAA opens right near our office. That could be dangerous.
