Flying Biscuit Cafe Celebrates Better Breakfast Day With This Eye Opening Deal
We grew up hearing “breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” It’s literally “breaking the fast” having gone the night without an intake of calories. Nutritionists sometimes debate the data. And, personally if I don’t wake up hungry I hold off on a meal sometimes until lunch. Regardless of how you choose to fuel up, turns out September is National Breakfast Month. And, more specifically September 26 is “Better Breakfast Day.” So, how can you celebrate with Flying Biscuit Cafe?
According to Charlotte on the Cheap, Flying Biscuit Cafe offers an eye opening special at all their locations September 26 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Customers can enjoy classic bacon and eggs breakfast for a mere $5. It’s 2 eggs how you like, 3 strips of bacon, creamy grits and a biscuit. The offer applies to dine in and takeout, but not online or third party delivery. Limit one $5 special per person. Flying Biscuit Cafe has locations throughout the Carolinas as well as Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Texas. We have several in the Charlotte area conveniently located.
So, how did “National Breakfast Month” get its start? A search of the name indicates it possibly originated during World War I as the government pushed people to eat a better breakfast. But, it really took off around 1951 when the Cereal Institute advertised a “Better Breakfast Month” in September. And, of course breakfast food makers and restaurants take the idea and run with it as a natural promotional fit.
Just keep in mind many times when you hear about an “important” nutritional stat, it’s deemed so by whatever group wants you to buy their product. I’ve learned to look to the source and make up my mind about the actual nutritional importance. And, if I do have breakfast I choose an appropriate portion of healthy protein and fat, while keeping the carb count on the lower end.
