North Carolina ‘Chick-Fil-Lationship’ Pic Goes Viral

Here’s a statement that everyone can agree on. Committed romantic relationships are not easy. Here’s one that not many experience. Committed romantic relationships AT WORK are really not easy. Azeem Warthen and Sarah Love met on the job at the Durham Chick-fil-A on Roxboro Road. They’ve gone from being co-workers, to friends, to good friends, to dating, and now they’ve gone viral with their ‘Chick-Fil-Lationship’ pic announcing their engagement.
What I’d really like to know is during the progression of this relationship, how much did their fellow employees know? To me, that’s the tricky part. See, once upon a time I hired a girl to work for me at a radio station in Waco, Texas. We were legitimately platonic friends and co-workers for many months. Then, well, it became more than that. However, we didn’t know how this would be accepted in the office. So, we kept out thing on the DL for A LONG TIME. I remember when our relationship did become public feeling both relieved and really scared. Of course, it worked out. Next month we’ll have been married thirty years (and on the air together for the last twenty-nine of those).
Azeem Warthen tells Raleigh’s ABC 11,“Learning how each other works inside of work and outside work has given us the opportunity to grow together. I’ve learned a lot about how her mind works and how she works in a professional environment which gives me an edge on knowing why she reacts some ways at home also.”
There’s a part of me that could not agree more with this. Then again, there’s another huge part of me that’s a man, who has been married for a long time and like every other man in this fraternity says, “Good luck with that knowing how her mind works and how she’ll react thing.”
I kid, of course. ‘Chick-Fil-Lationship’ couple, Azeem Warthen and Sara Love have set a date. Their wedding will be next September, on a Sunday. Naturally, it will be on a Sunday. Think about it. Sunday is the only day that Chick-fil-A restaurants are closed making it easier for everyone to attend.

It's True North Carolina Is One Of The Most Chick-Fil-A Obsessed States
Chick-Fil-A is undisputably my favorite fast food restaurant. It’s actually the only one I eat with any regularity. And probably 75% of what I ate in college. So I’ve done my part in this statistic and in helping make North Carolina one of the most Chick-Fil-A obsessed states. Though I’m surprised we aren’t higher on the list. And Georgia, the restaurant’s home state didn’t come in first!
Take a drive around Charlotte at lunchtime (or breakfast or dinner) and you’re bound to pass an extremely long Chick-fil-A drive-thru line. So its popularity is well documented. But where did this list come from? It actually came from a survey about favorite fast food dipping sauces. You know you love some Chick-Fil-A sauce though I’m partial to Polynesian.
The team at Upgraded Points wanted to know: Which U.S. states are the most obsessed with this fast food chain, according to residents? To find out, they asked respondents in each state which fast food restaurant is their favorite. They then determined the states with the highest % of respondents reporting Chick-fil-A as their favorite. And over 45% of North Carolina respondents named it their favorite chain!
