Weekdays 3:00PM - 7:00PM

In 2015, three friends (Chandler Wrenn, Tanner Morita and John Michael Cord) started a pop-up coffee shop.  Flash forward eight years and not only are HEX Coffee’s beans available online and brewed in cafes and coffee shops around the world, but you can take the “pop-up” descriptor away.  HEX Coffee has a permanent home in Camp North End.

Not only that, but HEX Coffee has also broadened their horizons and menu.  Breakfast, lunch, wine (available by the glass or bottle) and mocktails now join coffee to the list of avails as it transitions to an all-day experience.

Co-owner Chandler Wrenn, quoted in Axios Charlotte says, “We put as much effort into our natural wine program as our coffee program.”  Also, if you’re going to serve more than coffee, you’ve got to have space.  The new HEX Coffee bar has an open seating area that can accommodate 40 people with additional outdoor seating available as well.

And once those people are seated with their beverage of choice, they can dive into what appears to be a unique and delicious menu chef designed by Obediah Rysztak (formerly of VANA).  If you’re expecting chicken fingers and fried cheese, you’ve got another thing coming.  This ain’t your daddy’s “pub food.”

The culinary choices reflect the Japanese-Hawaiian heritage of co-owner, Tanner Morita.  To say these are bold, but delectable choices is an understatement.  I mean when was the last time “rice porridge with pork belly” or “spam musubi made with seared teriyaki spam, rice and nori” stared back at you from a menu?

HEX Coffee is located at 201 Camp Road and is open Tuesday-Sunday from 8am-3pm.  However, those hours will soon extend to 9pm with additional bar snacks appearing on the food lineup as well.
