Gather The Ingredients For Cheesy Stuffed Garlic Rolls
First, you need is a 16 oz. bag of pizza dough from your favorite grocery store freezer section. Plan ahead since it has to thaw in the fridge overnight. Then, grab a package of mozzarella string cheese, an egg, 1/2 stick unsalted butter, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 2 cloves of garlic, 1 Tablespoon each of fresh parsley and basil, 1 slice or provolone cheese and your favorite jarred marinara sauce.
The Technique And Big Finish
The technique is quite simple. Cut the string cheese sticks into 32 chunks, and do the same with the dough. Roll the cheese bites into pieces of dough to make an encased bread roll. Place onto a parchment lined tray into the shape of football. Brush with egg wash. Bake in 400 degree oven for 18 minutes. Turn oven to broil and go for a couple of minutes to get golden.
In the meantime, melt butter and add chopped herbs, parmesan, garlic and salt and pepper. Cut laces out of two slices of provolone cheese. When rolls come out of oven brush the garlic butter on top. And add cheese slices on top to resemble laces. Serve with marinara!
