David Letterman used to refer to him in a segment of his show as "Stupid Human Tricks."  You know, abilities that you have that others do not.  Among the ones that common include the ability to wiggle your ears and tie a cherry stem in a knot with your tongue.  By the way, neither of those would have gotten you on Letterman.  However, Kelsey Grubb's ability to rotate her feet 180 degrees?  Oh yeah.

Well, almost.  The 32-year-old Albuquerque, New Mexico woman has been acknowledged by Guinness World Records for having the largest foot rotation (female) at 171.4 degrees.

Was this an ability she knew?  Was this a talent she'd been cultivating for years?  Hardly.  According to Guinness, Kelsey's story is about as random as it gets.  “I work at a library and the newest world record book (2021) had just come out. A coworker was flipping through and randomly opened to the page with the largest foot rotation and said ‘ew! That's so gross,’” said Kelsey.  She then tried rotating her own feet on a piece of paper and realized she could definitely come close to the record.

Although she hasn't been "working on this," she is an avid figure skater and credits that movement and stretching for contributing to her amazing foot rotation.  And the big question:  does it hurt?  Not at all.  Grubb says she can sometimes feel it in her knee and just rotates slower to ease that discomfort.

I think being able to rotate your feet 180 degrees, and having the world record, is cool.  However, I guess I'm in the minority.  According to Kelsey, “Most people are grossed out and fascinated at the same time.”
